A

items, and baked goods.
Lunch
will be in an Amish home where lunch will be served family-style
and includes the main entrée, plus mashed potatoes with
gravy, vegetables, homemade bread, and pies with coffee and tea.
The food is delicious, very plentiful, and duplicates an Amish
wedding feast.

Holines
is not a luxury for the few; it is not just for some people.
It is meant for you and for me and for all of us.
It is simple duty, because if we learn to love, we learn to be

"Lockport
Cave and Underground Boat Ride"
|
| Lockport,
New York |
|
Board the motorcoach and relax as we make our way to Lockport,
New York. We'll arrive at Fieldstone Country Inn
for a fulfilling lunch. Begin our day of adventures with a tour
through America's past. Explore the historic Erie Canal
Locks constructed in 1838 and view ruins from an earlier
industrial age. Wear your walking shoes because we'll walk safely
through a water tunnel that was blasted out of solid rock in the
1850's while viewing stalactites, flow stone, various geological
formations, and artifacts left behind by the men who built the
tunnel in the early days of the Erie Canal. If we're lucky we
may even find a fossil or two.
The next part of our journey will
be a one-of-a-kind underground boat ride. Make sure you have your
jacket or sweater as we embark on America's longest underground
boat ride through a trip of wonders. View cave formations in their
early stages of developments. We will be awestruck as we take
a ride that has been described as both "peaceful and eerie"
as the boat glides through the lifeless water, illuminated only
by small, sporadically placed electric lights. Marvel at artifacts
left by the miners over a century ago.
Afterwards,
spend some time in beautiful Niagara Falls, New York
for some shopping and sightseeing on your own before departing
for home with great memories of our adventurous day.
NOTE: This tour requires walking
and includes stairs.

"International
Tour of Cleveland" |
| Cleveland,
OH |
|
Cleveland's
international heritage is tied to the many immigrant groups that
came here in search of a better life, while maintaining the rich
traditions, legacies and customs of their native lands.
Our tour will take us to visit a number of ethnic and historical
sites in this place we call home. Start by seeing the site where
Moses Cleveland first landed in 1796, declaring
this the capital city of the Western Reserve. We'll see where
later immigrants settled like Irishtown Bend and we'll go by an
Ohio City Church that had hidden tunnels to help slaves on the
Underground Railroad escape to the banks of the Cuyahoga, for
boats to take them to Canada. We'll also visit Lorenzo
Carter Cabin in the flats.
Then, we're off to stop at a German store that
imports specialty items from Germany and middle-European countries.
Also, visit a Greek Bakery that specializes in
homemade Greek delicacies. A brief visit to the Westside
Market is planned with time to take pictures from the
balcony overlooking this wonderful Cleveland landmark.
Travel from Public Square to Playhouse Square with a visit to
a Lebanese Import house right in the heart of the original Big
Italy.
Enjoy
lunch at Sterle's Slovenian Restaurant and visit
a small bakery where all the bakers worked for Hough Bakery (you
will not be disappointed).
We'll travel to Little Italy, and if parking
allows, we'll visit on the main street of this great neighborhood.
Afterwards, complete the day by stopping at the most unusual store
where you'll experience a trip to the Far East, right in our own
backyard. Join us as we see many different ethnic cultures and
learn the history that makes Cleveland a wonderful mosaic of people
and places.
